SUMMARY

well the season came to an abrupt end...we started out and finished slow...we had a good run in the middle though...here's how the night went...start out 1-3 in 801...finish 1-2 in cricket....and went 5-3 in 501...we had our chances of winning....but with the slow start and finish it just wasn't happening....i think we're the Indianapolis Colts of darts...we kick butt during the regular season and then shit the bed in the playoffs...

well the playoffs are over...now we don't play again until January 25th...I hope everyone ordered a dartboard for Christmas...and hopefully you will use it to practice....

THE LOW LIGHTS

it's the playoffs and "dolla bills" were flying...we had 19 in fines this week...TRUMPETS SOUND!!!!  what a way to end the first half...we have a tie for the prestigious "Skippy Award"...that's right...the BOOBIE TWINS tied with 4 fines each...how ironic is that....maybe one day Jr will realize that under 20's are NOT good....maybe some day Jeff, John and Andy will hit some f'n in's....well tied for 2nd place with 3 fines are Ed, Jeff and Ted...Johnny rounded the night with 2 fines....not very good especially considering this was a playoff game...

Johnny (48.48), Jr (45.70) and Ed (45.06) were the 3 shooters under a 50 average last night....but if we look under the covers once again we see these three shooters also were the only shooters that had at least 1 game average under a 40....Ed (28.00), Johnny (28.00) and Jr (34.33)...2 shooters with an average for a game under a 30...that pretty much stinks...my thoughts on this is that if both Ted and Andy can have every game average over a 40 then you three veterans should as well...also if we look even closer we can see that 33.33% of our shots were under a 40...it's improving but I think we have to strive for that percentage to be closer to 20-25%....we need to stay consistent from shot to shot and game to game...

There were an embarrassing 5 under 9's....Ed had 2 (7 & 9)....Jr had 2 (9 & 3)...and Jeff had 1 (9)...these types of scores should not be happening at our level...especially 5 in one night...ughghghggh

Well missed ins killed us again tonight....we had 12 missed ins....and the so-called "A" team kinda sucked at the ins  with 10 of those 12...Jeff and Johnny led the way with 4 missed ins each...Ted and Andy also had 2 missed ins...not our best effort....very frustrating to say the least...

Well we only had 7 missed outs last night...but most of them would have secured a win....Jeff led the way with 2 missed outs...everyone else on the team had 1 missed out...

Like I thought...our playoff hopes came down to cricket....we had 2 shooters (aka the BOOBIE TWINS) shoot under a 2.0...Jr (1.83) and Andy (1.33)....we were up 7-6 with Ed and Jr playing cricket together against an average at best team...Don't know what happened...I thought we had a lock...but as our luck in playoffs goes...we crapped the bed...and I'm not even going to get into Andy's woeful 1.33 average in the last game of the night...

THE HIGH LIGHTS

We had another nice team average this week of 51.49....Jeff led the way again with his 5th week in a row with over a 60 average...this week I threw a 64.82....Andy threw a very nice 54.27 average and Ted rounded the shooters over a 50 average with a 50.64....

We had 8 tons this week...Jeff led the way with 3 tons....Johnny had 2 tons....and Ed, Jr and Ted each contributed 1 ton....Jeff had the high score of the night with a 140...If you didn't notice...Andy did not have a ton all night but had a very nice 54.27 average...that's some consistent shooting Andy...keep up the good work...

Ted shot a perfect 2 for 2 in double ins...Ted much better job as the #2 guy than last week as the #1 guy...keep killing those ins...Jeff, Andy and Ed each had 2 double ins...

Jeff and Ted led the way with 2 out shots each...Ed and Johnny each had 1 out...

Another pretty bad week at cricket...we went 1-2...Jeff led the way with a 2.67 average...Johnny had a 2.33 average...with scores like that it's easy to see how we beat their best shooters....Ed had a 2.29 average and Ted rounds the night of over 2.0 shooters with a 2.14 average...

Jeff, Ted and Ed each shot 3 >=3-mark rounds...Johnny had 2 >=3-mark rounds...and Jr and Andy each had 1 >=3-mark round....

Jeff and Johnny had the only winning record of the night at 4-3...and trust me i'm not bragging about those scores...

YTD Leaders

CONCLUSION

Another half down the tubes...only to lose in the 1st round of the playoffs AGAIN....guys we gotta focus on this second half...I'm tired of losing...I want to make a run at the jackets...not because I want an ugly ass jacket...but because I hate to lose...

But overall I think we made some great strides this year...Andy is starting to come around and looks like he might get my nod for the most improved over last year....Ted has put together a stretch of a few good weeks in a row...he might be the most improved from the the beginning to the end of the year...on the flip side Jr might have to get my nod for the the person who went in the wrong direction...a solid 51 shooter last year to a sub-45 shooter this year...pick up the pace Oldfield...I need you back to your shooting from last year...

If anyone is interested the singles shoot is Jan 18 at Jokers...The second half starts up Jan 25....don't sit around for over a month without picking up a dart...try practicing on your own...it'll go far to making you a better shooter...maybe we will get up a practice one of the Thursdays in January...until then....everyone have a great Christmas and New Years...I'm sure I'll see most of you at Johnny's New Year's Eve Party....
