SUMMARY a great end to the regular season...four winning weeks in a row...we beat Fat Pete's last night by a score of 11-4...talk about a great team win...seems like everyone did their part when it was needed...we had a 53.76 team average....and EVERYONE had over a 50 average last night...we had 11 team tons...only Andy didn't have one...EVERYONE had at least one double out...Ed had 2 and Jeff had 3...EVERYONE had over a 2.0 cricket average (except Jr's pitiful 1.0)...that's some great team shooting...it's great when everyone does their part and we don't rely on any one shooter...guess my plan of missing in shots for the past couple weeks worked as expected b/c now people realize that they too can do their part...haha.... THE LOW LIGHTS "dolla bills" were at their lowest amount all year and the only time all year that we were in single digits...we only owed 6 in fines...see now that wasn't too hard was it...Jr owed half of those fines and took the prestigious "Skippy Award" this week....He owed 3 total (which isn't too bad)...he owed 2 for under 20's and 1 for a squat at cricket...Ed, John and Ted each owed 1 for under 20....Jeff and Andy were fine free...great job...see how a low fine night turns into a big win night...let's keep that trend for the next 3 weeks... Woohoo...nobody shot under a 45 (actually under a 50) this week...very nice work guys... as a team we were over the covers last night...we only had 27.13% of our shots under a 40...that's some great shooting...BUT if we look under the covers once again we see these culprits had at least 1 game average under a 40....Jr (28.67), Johnny (32.50), Ed (33.50) and Andy (36.80)...For the first time ever I'm going to give a little grace to our shooters and give them mad props in the "over the covers" section below...b/c our worst shooter only shot 35% of their shots under a 40...slightly above my goal of 30% but since EVERYONE was better than 35% I think I'm going to let it slide...very very good week at the averages and consistent shooting... This week Ed (2), Jr (9, 9) and Ted (7) had scores in the single digits...that's a lot of single digit shots...imagine if you even hit a 40 on those rounds how much better your average would have been.... We went from only 23 missed ins last week to a very much improved 7 missed ins this week...very nice improvement...and no dolla bills owed for missed ins is very good...Jeff continues to struggle at the in shots...Jeff had 3 missed ins this week...not very good....actually it's pretty horrible...I gotta step it up for the playoffs...Ed and Johnny each had 2 missed outs...great job by Jr and Andy going 2 for 2 at the ins to save their teams dollars...Ted actually didn't even get a shot at the ins this week...that's great shooting... we had 15 missed outs this week...not very good...Ted led the way with 5 missed outs...guess the pressure of the YTD double out race was too much for him...Ed had 4 missed outs...Jr had 3 missed outs...Andy had 2 missed outs...Johnny had 1 missed out....Jeff went a perfect 3 for 3 at the double outs...explain to me how I can go 100% at the outs and only 33.33% at the ins...makes no sense...but if I had to choose one over the other I guess taking the double out means more since it wins the game...but don't anyone think I'm still not very mad at myself for sucky suckying at the ins...let's make sure we hit the double ring (ins and outs) when we get the chance during the playoffs... Jr continues to struggle at cricket posting the team low of 1.00 and the only shooter under our 2.0 goal... Jr had 3 0-mark rounds and Andy had 1 0-mark round...air balls in cricket are no good...at least Andy padded the stats with a 5 mark round when he admitted to himself that he can't hit cork...haha... EVERYONE was over a 50% win rate...great job... THE HIGH LIGHTS this week we posted a very nice team average of 53.76...Jeff led the way with a 58.57 average...Johnny (54.42), Ed (53.50), Ted (53.40), Jr (52.00) and Andy (50.70) all posted great averages...its very nice to see EVERYONE with over a 50 average...very solid darts...no reason we can't do that every week...let's keep rolling through the playoffs... let's look "over the covers" again this week...i think it's important to recognize the people that average over a 40 every game...and those shooters that shoot better than 70% of their shots over a 40.....Ted shot a very impressive low game of 48.25...he was very consistent last night as his game averages ranged from 48.25 to 56.40....Jeff just made it over the covers with a low game average of 40.00....Jeff led the way with a solid 86.96% of his shots over a 40...that translates to only 3 shots under a 40...Ted shot a very impressive 80.95% of his shots over a 40...that's only 4 shots under a 40...very nice night Ted...Johnny shot 70% of his shots over a 40...that's only 6 shots below a 40...Johnny very consistent night (esp when I was struggling early)....and since I have the power of the pen I'm going to let the following shooters enjoy some "over the covers" action...Ed (66.67% and 7 shots), Jr (66.67% and 8 shots) and Andy (65.00% and 7 shots) all shot very solid and consistent darts...it's nice to see everyone have a good night at the same time...let's keeping doing that through the playoffs and we'll be competitive... this week we had 11 team tons...Jeff, Ted and Johnny led the way with 3 each...Ed and Jr each had 1 ton...Andy wasn't "in the mood" to post any triple digit shots... Jr (140) and Ed (135) made their tons count by hitting the high scores of the night... Ed, Jr and Andy led the way with 2 double ins each...Jr and Andy were both 2 for 2....great job...Johnny and Jeff each had 1 double in...Ted didn't even have a shot at the in... Jeff remained calm under the pressure of the YTD double out race and posted 3 double outs last night to once again reclaim the crown...Jeff finishes the year with 14 double outs...only one ahead of Ted's 13...and Jeff made his tying double out count by hitting a monster 112 out...Ed shows that he still has some dart life left in him by hitting 2 double outs last night...EVERYONE else hit 1 double out...great great job...it's awesome when everyone contributes...this is a team league and this week we showed how good we can play as a team... we had a very impressive 2.33 team cricket average...Jeff led the way with a very impressive 4.00 cricket average...Andy (2.33), Ted (2.20), Ed (2.20) and Johnny (2.00) all shot very nice cricket games....even though we all know Andy's average was padded by going for average and hitting a 5 mark round rather than shoot for cork once he knew the game was out of reach... Jeff led the way with 4 >=3-mark rounds...that translated into 80.00%....Andy had 3 >= 3-mark rounds....that was 50% of his shots...Ted and Ed each shot 2 >= 3-mark rounds...that was 40% of their shots...Johnny and Jr each had 1 >= 3-mark round...love those high cricket rounds...and for the first time in league play Jeff shot a perfect 9-mark round...that lights the board up in a hurry... Jeff and Johnny finished the night with a 85.71% win rate...Ed, Andy and Ted finish the night with a 71.43% win rate...and Jr finished with a 57.14% win rate...EVERYONE over a 50% win rate means we must have won the night...great job... THE QUOTES & RECAP 801-1 -- Ted hits a ton...Ed follows that up with a solid 2...ughghgh you kidding me...but Ed redeems himself by taking the out... 801-2 -- Johnny hits a 100 and a 117...Andy takes the game out...after further review, Jeff had all 3 of his under 40 shots in this game...then didn't shoot under a 40 during the rest of the night... 801-3 -- Ted hits a ton...Jr hits a 9...our first loss of the night... 801-4 -- Jeff hits a ton...After shooting a 31 in the first round Johnny shoots a solid 79, 79, 59....Andy had a solid game with a 73, 85, 55, 74...the 74 was the set shot for Jeff to come along and take out a 40 with 1 dart... 501-1 -- Ed misses the in shot...Jr gets on with a very nice 77...Jr hits a 140 to set Ted up for the double out... 501-2 -- Jeff misses the in shot...Johnny gets on...Johnny hits a 19 in his last round...Jeff does his patented move and says "if I hit the trip 20 the game is over"...and that is exactly what happened...trip 20, single 12, double 20 for a very huge 112 out....that tied me back up for the YTD double out race with Ted at 13 each... 501-3 -- Ed misses the in shot...Jr gets on...Jr hits a 9 followed by Ted's 7...Ted hits a 111 on his next round to make up for it...Ed takes the game out... 501-4 -- Jeff and Johnny miss the in shot...Andy gets on...Jeff had a solid game with the following scores...60, 100, 61...Johnny takes the game out when Jeff's 61 leaves him with a double 16 out...and half way through 501 we sitting at 7-1... 501-5 -- Ed gets on...Jr follows that up with an 80...Ed hits a 135...but 4 missed outs later we're sitting with our 2nd loss... 501-6 -- Jeff gets on...pretty lackluster game with only 2 shots higher than my 52 in shot...yup back to back losses... 501-7 -- Ed gets on...and his next round hits an 85....4 missed outs...but Jr gets a chance and nails the double 1 for the win... 501-8 -- Jeff and Johnny miss the in shot...Andy gets on for his 2nd time tonight saving our team dolla bills...Johnny hits a ton...and with Jeff and Ted tied at 13, Jeff steps up to the plate with a double 8 staring him in the face...and as one would suspect Jeff nails it and catapults him into the YTD lead with 14 double outs...nice try Teddy but you're no Andy of last year's 2nd half...haha....great race though Ted...you had a great past few weeks... Cricket-1 -- Ed and Ted each shot a 3 and 4-mark round...good enough for the win... Cricket-2 -- Jeff put on another clinic this week....here's a quick recap...4, 3, 9, 1 (at cork), 3 (at cork)...you saw it right...a perfect 9 mark round...jeez I love cricket...haha....Johnny had a 4-mark round during his first round which hleped put the game out of reach very early... Cricket-3 -- Jr starts the game with a squat shot...then team boobies have a 0 for 9 run at the corks...and it's at this point Andy says forget the cork, I'm going for average and hits a nice 5 mark round...but a loss nonetheless....that puts us at 11-4 for the night...our only double digit victory all half...let's keep this rolling into the playoffs... Jr and Jeff at the same time comment about Johnny that he has "bobble balls" next to his bobble head collection... Jr to Fitch...shouldn't the top of the I be dotted or is it an exclamation point... Jr says how about Jeff get me a cheese steak bitch... Andy to Fitch...we yell beer all night and you don't hear that...we say Fitch in a conversation once and you're all over it... Ed to Jeff...dart guru why do the darts go in sideways...Jeff's response...because you blow... Ed...wire, wire pants on fire... Ed thought he was funny but Jr said it wasn't blog worthy and to top it all off..."mounting the fitch"... NOTE: if you want it in the blog just write it on the sheet...I don't discriminate... CONCLUSION a very solid night last night...very good averages in both '01 and cricket...everyone had a double out....double digit tons...pretty much a very nice effort by everyone....Jeff and Ted had a great race for double outs over the last few weeks...Jeff edges out the overall lead 14 to 13 by hitting 3 double outs last night...Jeff hit a 9-mark round in cricket and a 112 out....now if only he could hit some damn in shots...Jr finally made multiple blog worthy comments...and we just seemed to have a bunch of fun....next week we should be at home for the first round of the playoffs...let's bring the same consistency we had last night during the playoffs...
