SUMMARY All the boys wanted to give a shout out to Teddy to GET WELL SOON!!! WE ARE THE CHAMPS!!! BACK TO BACK!!! So we have two upsets in the semi finals...#4 (Grey's Lodge) beats #1 (Little Lit) and #3 (Brickhouse) beats #2 (Post Office 3)...the finals now look like this....#3 Brickhouse hosts #4 Grey's Lodge... Well we never make things easy...all we know is we are glad the last cricket match wasn't against a girl...because we all know how that turned out...The "B" team started out strong winning 2 801 games while the "A" team kinda sucked and started off slow losing their first 2 cricket games...we knew it was going to be a long night and we'd have to dig in and have everyone contribute...and for the most part that is exactly what happened...but as usual we didn't shoot very well at home but luckily we found a way to win the night in the very last game...one of their better shooters had 1 cork to hit in the 15th game and missed...which brought the little loud guy to the board...and to everyone's surprise he focused and banged out two corks to win the night...Andy is our hero....haha.... THE LOW LIGHTS Since it's playoffs we do not collect fines...but if we did this is what it would have looked like...Fines were at a total of 27 this week...holy crap that's a lot of fines...and completely inexcusable for the finals week...this week Ed would have been collecting the prestigious "Skippy Award"....Ed had 7 in fines (2 under 20's, 1 C-rule, 1 missed in and 3 squats at cricket)...Matt had 6 in fines (2 under 20's, 1 missed in, 1 missed out and 2 squats at cricket)....Jr (1 under 20, 2 C-rules and 1 missed in) and Andy (2 under 20's, 1 missed in and 1 squat in cricket) both had 4 in fines...John (1 under 20, 1 missed in and 1 missed out) and Jeff (1 missed in, 1 missed out and 1 squat in cricket) both had 3 in fines... it's the finals and what do we do...oh yeah miss hitting our goal of a 50 average by shooting a team average of 48.47...Jr had the low average of the night with a 40.93...Ed (44.17) rounds out the under 45 club... as team we shot 37.31% of our shots under a 40...if we look deeper under the covers once again we see that these culprits had more than 30% of their shots under a 40...Ed had 52.17% of his shots under a 40...Jr had 50.00% of his shots under a 40...Johnny had 40.91% of his shots under a 40....Andy had 36.36% of his shots under a 40...Matt had 31.82% of his shots under a 40...it's the championship and we have 5 of 6 shooters on this list...not very good...and the following shooters had at least 1 game average under a 40...the following are their low game average of the night...Jr (22.00), Ed (30.14), Matt (35.50) and Johnny (37.67)... Jr (7) had the only single digit score... this week we had 10 missed ins...Ed led the mess with 4 missed ins...Jr had 2 missed ins...John, Andy, Jeff and Matt all had 1 missed in... this week we had 14 missed outs...and those early missed outs cost us at least 2 games....Johnny and Jeff both had 4 missed outs each...Andy had 3 missed outs...Matt had 2 missed outs...Ed had 1 missed out....Jr was a perfect 1 for 1 at the outs... The "dream team" of Ed and Matt wasn't all it was cracked up to be...they both posted under a 2.0 cricket average...Ed (1.25) and Matt (1.38)....Andy "all I do is hit corks" Curran also wasn't lighting the cricket lamp with only a 1.30 cricket average... Ed had 5 0-mark cricket rounds...Andy and Matt both had 3 0-mark cricket rounds...Jr and Jeff both had 1 0-mark cricket rounds... Matt had a 28.57% win rate...Ed had a 42.86% win rate.... THE HIGH LIGHTS we missed our our goal of a 50 team average by only hitting a 48.47 team average...Jeff led the way with a 56.93 average...way off his normal mid 60 averages....Matt (52.81) rounds out the over 50 club...way to hit the numbers last night Matt...it helped the cause...John (48.92) and Andy (47.04) round out the over 45 club... let's look "over the covers" again this week...i think it's important to recognize the people that average over a 40 every game...and those shooters that shoot better than 70% of their shots over a 40.....Jeff (86.96% or 3 shots) was the only shooter to shoot over 70% of his shots over a 40...the following shooters averaged over a 40 each game....the following is their low game average...Jeff (45.67) and Andy (41.40) were the only shooters to average higher than a 40 in all games... this week we had 6 team tons...Johnny and Matt both had 2 tons...Ed and Jeff both had 1 ton...Jr and Andy weren't "in the mood" to chuck any triple digit shots... Johnny had the high score of the night with a 133... Jeff was 4 for 5 at the ins (80.00%)...Jr had 2 ins...Ed and Matt had 1 in each...Johnny and Andy were both 0-1 at the ins... Ed and Jeff posts 2 double outs each this week...Jr and Andy both had 1 double out...Johnny was 0-4 at the outs...Matt was 0-2 at the outs... Jeff had the high cricket average of the night with a 2.83...Johnny (2.40) and Jr (2.10) round out the over 2.0 club...very good effort and averages again in cricket this week by at least half the shooters...and we needed every bit of it...we got 2 cricket wins and that helped secure the win for the night... Jr had 4 >=3-mark rounds...Jeff had 3 >=3-mark rounds...Johnny, Andy and Matt all had 2 >=3-mark rounds...Ed had 1 >=3-mark rounds.... Andy had a 71.43% win rate including a double out and a walk off 2 cork shot...Johnny, Jr and Jeff all had a 57.14% win rate... THE QUOTES & RECAP 801-1 -- Matt hits a ton...Ed chucks a C-rule...Jr takes the game out for our 1st win... 801-2 -- We had the game in the bag but Jeff, John and Matt throw up 6 missed outs and we have our 1st loss... 801-3 -- Andy hits a 13...3 more missed outs and our 2nd loss... 801-4 -- Ed hits a 14...Jr hits a 7...Ed hits an 11...and somehow with that "great" shooting Ed finds a way to hit the out for our 2nd win... Cricket-1 -- Ed shoots 2, 0, 2, 6, 0, 0, 0, 0...Matt shoots 3, 2, 0, 3, 1, 0, 0, 2....look at all those 0's...granted 3 of them were at cork...but can't win games with that many squat shots...our 3rd loss... 501-1 -- Jeff hits a 52 in...Andy hits an 11...Jeff hits a ton...Jeff takes a 77 out for our 3rd win... 501-2 -- Ed and Jr miss the in...Matt gets in....but our 4th loss... 501-3 -- Jeff gets a 53 in...Johnny follows that up with a 133...Andy follows that up with a 91....Johnny hits a 13...Jeff takes the game out for our 4th win... 501-4 -- Ed misses the in...Jr gets in...Ed hits a ton...Matt hits an 11...our 5th loss... Cricket-2 -- Jeff shoots 0, 4, 5, 5, 2, 1...Johnny shoots 4, 3, 2, 2, 1...I still can't even believe it writing it down now...how the hell do I start a cricket game with a squat...now I know what Ed feels like...luckily their guy didn't close anything on the first round and Johnny and I posted 5 out of 6 rounds with >=3-mark rounds...our 5th win... 501-5 -- Jeff gets in...Andy hits a 95....our 6th loss... 501-6 -- Ed gets in...Jr chucks an 80 plus a C-rule...our 7th loss....our backs are against the wall...we HAVE to win 3 games in a row or we go home....let's see what happens... 501-7 -- Jeff, John and Andy all miss the in...that doesn't seem like a great start to try and win 3 games in a row...Jeff hits a 72 on...Johnny follows that up with a ton...Andy takes the game out for our 6th win...whew that was close...1/3 the way to our goal... 501-8 -- Ed, Jr, Matt, Ed all miss the in....did anyone pay attention...we need to win 3 games in a row...and we start the first 2 of those games with a combined 7 missed ins...yuck....Jr gets in...Matt follows that up with a ton...and Ed takes the game out for our 7th win....ok we are 2/3 the way to our goal...it's all knotted up at 7 wins a piece...it all comes down to cricket...we look across at the other team...luckily for us they don't have any girls on their team...but they do send up one of their better players... Cricket-3 -- Jr shoots 3, 3, 4, 3, 2, 2, 1, 1, 2, 0....Andy shoots 0, 3, 1, 1, 2, 3, 0, 0, 1, 2...holy crap that was a long game...after going 0-6 at the cork his previous rounds...Andy chucks 2 corks to win the game and put our team as the 1st Half Champs!!!! Jeff --> thank god new guy showed up... Jr (to Matt) --> don't be nervous it's only for a jacket...I have 9 at home... Matt --> win or lose we are getting hammered tonight... Jeff (to Matt) --> way to practice doubles... Jr (to Andy) --> go pick Ted up and you stay there... Jr --> another come from ahead loss... Jr (to Andy) --> can play you for money...we aren't making the 15th game... Matt --> about time...come from behind win... Ed --> I beat my guy 24-14... Jeff (to Ed) --> put phone down and hit an in... NOTE: if you want it in the blog just write it on the sheet...I don't discriminate... CONCLUSION FINALS...we win back to back championships...and god only knows how we pulled it off tonight...we weren't exactly doing much great...only a 48.47 team average...only 2 shooters over a 50 average...only 6 tons...10 missed ins...14 missed outs...but we did have a 2.18 cricket average and luckily by winning 2 cricket games we secured the win for the night...but on the other side we fought and clawed our way to wins...we never gave up and we took advantage when the other team faltered...either way a very nice half...thanks for winning the championship on my birthday...take a couple weeks off and we'll do this all again near the end of January... Once again I'd like to send our best wishes out to Ted and hope he's up and around soon....
